Default SAT critical thinking

Can someone tell how to increase my nephews sat critical reading scores? He got a 580, which is so bad. But, I doesn't know how to raise it. Any suggestions?

He still have about one and a half years to study. But, He need to start now. He got a 2020 on his SAT. Is that good or bad for a freshman?

Thanks a lot.

A 2020 is an excellent score for a freshman. He should just keep taking practice tests and studying vocabulary.

I would also suggest going to any of the free "Flashcard" sites, such as Quizlet.com, to review SAT vocabulary. These sites already have SAT flashcard sets, as well as games the student can play to reinforce the words.
